System Requirements

CatDV Express is compatible with most common server machine configurations. A typical installation will require:

Windows 10/11 or Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 or 2022, or

MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) or later

Computer’s RAM of 16GB or more

10 GbE network

Fast SSD disk is highly recommended*

*The required disk storage size depends mainly on the system’s scale, particularly the number of assets the user wants to manage.

Databases

CatDV Express includes a simple built-in database (the open-source H2) which is ideal for trying out CatDV or for very small deployments, with perhaps a few thousand assets. However, for most production environments, we recommend using MySQL or MariaDB. This needs to be installed prior to installing CatDV Express. The CatDV Express Setup Wizard will ask you which database solution you wish to use. If you choose MySQL, then you will need to supply the MySQL root password so that the CatDV Express Setup process can install the CatDV database schema into MySQL.
